Waikato Hospital with 600 beds and more than 3700 employees is
located in Hamilton, in the central North Island of New Zealand. It
is a specialised tertiary and teaching hospital with links to
Auckland University, and has all diagnostic and treatment
facilities on one campus.

Waikato Hospital is part of Waikato District Health Board
(Waikato DHB), one of the largest providers of tertiary, secondary
and primary health care in New Zealand. The health board directly
provides hospital and community based services for 320,000 people
in its district as well as specialised diagnostic and tertiary
services for a wider region of more than 700,000 people. Waikato
Hospital is supported by four community based hospitals in Thames,
Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui. Waikato DHB's employees are
well supported with orientation, ongoing professional development
and education programmes.

Hamilton city provides an excellent base to explore the central
North Island. The city is on the banks of the Waikato River and has
a thriving café and restaurant scene, great shopping, gardens and
galleries. Hamilton is well known for hosting top sporting events
such as V8 supercars and the World Rowing Championships. Nearby are
a number of delightful character towns such as Cambridge, Raglan
and Otorohanga.
The Waikato region has everything to offer from its wonderful
rivers, lakes, walkways and golf courses to its family friendly
environment and temperate climate. You are on the doorstep of some
of the best skifields in New Zealand, and close to dramatic surf
beaches and safe swimming beaches. New Zealand's largest city,
