Immigration Requirements
With the exception of new member states, like Romania and
Bulgaria, all European Union (EU) citizens are eligible to work in
the UK without a work permit.
Individuals from Romania; Bulgaria; Czech Republic; Estonia;
Hungary; Latvia; Lithuania; Poland; Slovakia; or Slovenia who plan
to work in the UK for an employer for more than a month have to
register under the Worker Registration scheme. For more information
please visit Home Office website.
This however does not apply if you are set up as self-employed.
Geneva Doctors can refer you to a limited company to help you with
the process of becoming self-employed, which also provides you
with the opportunity to maximise your pay. Geneva Doctors have
agreements with two Umbrella Companies, i4 and Liquid Friday.
If you are from outside the EU to find out if you are eligible
to work in the UK go to the Home Office website or call the Home Office -
UK Border Agency on 0870 606 7766.
If you are from outside the EU, in some cases we can offer
sponsorship of Tier 2 Visas. This is only possible in areas of
shortage such as Accident and Emergency, Paediatrics, Trauma &
Orthopaedics, Senior House Officer and Registrar Grades. This is
naturally dependant on what country you come from and will be
accessed on a case-by-case basis.
